Erwin van rijn
Product specialist Molecular Biology:
Together with Derek Butler, Erwin is responsible for BaseClear's Gene to Protein services. He focuses mainly on gene synthesis, synthetic library construction, cloning and primer synthesis. Erwin manages the team of technicians who carry out the laboratory work and solve any problems that might arise. In addition to this, he maintains the contacts with customers about these services.
Background:
Erwin was trained at the Secondary Laboratory institute (MLO) in Delft, majoring in botany. Subsequently he studied Biology and Medical Laboratory Science (HLO) at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, with a focus on plant biotechnology. After his graduation, Erwin spent five years working on various cloning projects in plants and mouse models at Leiden University, biotechnology company Syngenta Mogen and the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam. In 2004, Erwin joined BaseClear, first as research technician and later as product specialist.
