Product specialist DNA Sequencing and Purification
Jan Peter manages a team of five technicians, who are responsible for carrying out all DNA purifications and DNA sequencing. Jan Peter takes care of the quality assurance and the delivery of the resulting data at the agreed upon times. He always runs a final check on the sequence data before they are sent off to the customers.
Background:
Jan Peter studied Biology and Medical Laboratory Science (HLO) at the Saxion University of Applied Sciences in Deventer. After his graduation, he moved to Leiden and started to work for BaseClear in 2004. Jan Peter started as sequencing technician. In 2005, he became product specialist DNA purification. Since this was only a part-time responsibility, Jan Peter continued working on certain sequencing activities, mainly focussing on the larger sequencing projects. As of mid- 2008, Jan Peter is product specialist DNA sequencing and purification. Large sequencing projects are now carried out by one of the technicians.
