Walter pirovano
From October 2009 Walter Pirovano will work as a bioinformatician in the genome analysis section of BaseClear. His main focus will be on the management and analysis of next-generation sequencing data.
Walter attended the University of Milan to study biology and specialized in molecular biology. After obtaining his Master's degree he moved to the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam to start a PhD research in the group of Prof. Jaap Heringa. Under his supervision Walter performed studies in the field of biological sequence analysis for four years.
In his sparetime he enjoys playing piano in a Dutch pop/rock band.
