BaseClear now offers a full, coherent range of reliable services and products, while maintaining absolute confidentiality. It attracts a rapidly growing group of demanding clients, including world leaders like Crucell, Genencor and DSM.

Facilities and quality
Over the past twelve years BaseClear and its facilities have developed considerably. Nowadays the company is the proud owner of a laboratory that ranks as one of the most modern and best equipped in Europe . It processes thousands of samples per day. Extensive robotization and automatization have made the margin for human error as small as possible. The excellence of BaseClear is further secured by a quality management system. The accuracy of equipment, reactions and logistics are monitored constantly by a tailor made laboratory information system, as well as several internal and external controls. BaseClear for instance participates in regular independent, external quality assessment schemes.

Staff and expertise
The specialized and highly trained staff of BaseClear now comprises 25 professionals. Nearly all hold a university degree or are trained at institutes for higher education. They share common values like flexibility, team spirit, accuracy and organisational skills. Special personal training and development programs ensure that they keep up with latest developments in methods, equipment, chemicals, knowledge and relevant research. To further the expertise of the staff and to expand its network of (inter)national partners, the company participates in international research projects at the frontier of human knowledge. An example is the participation of BaseClear in research projects for ESA. These include the development of biological air filtering systems for use in space, as well as special detection systems for monitoring and maintaining microbial safety in the living quarters and work areas of manned spacecraft.

Management
The general management of the company is still formed by its founders.
As managing director Erna Barel is responsible for the general management and supervises the logistical organisation, as well as the operations and financial affairs
Operational director Bas Reichert is responsible for the policies of the company, the setting up of certain projects, research and development of services and products, as well as business development (co/founder of Mycobics BV, Verilabs BV and Genejewels).
