CELL LINE AUTHENTICATION SERVICE
Are you using the correct cell line?
It is estimated that 15-20% of the human cell lines used in experiments have been misidentified or cross-contaminated with another cell line. This poses a huge threat to the quality of publications. For this reason, depositories now authenticate cell line submissions and monitor cross-contamination.
Recommended test
Baseclear offers several recommended tests to verify your cell line for publishing. Baseclear offers a fast, reliable STR profiling (DNA fingerprinting) service under ISO17025 guidelines, and can be used to assist in the verification of your human cell line.
Short tandem repeat (STR) profiling creates a unique DNA fingerprint for every human cell line, and can thus be used to determine the identity and uniqueness of a human cell line. The STR profile can be used to compare your cell line to specified reference samples to authenticate your cell line identity.
For this test, we need approximately 1 ng of DNA, and you will receive a DNA profile of your human cell line, including the following loci:

Mycoplasma detection
Next to STR profiling, Baseclear also offers the possibility to screen your cell line for the presence of Mycoplasma. Read more >>
