DNA and RNA purification kits
Zymo Research DNA/RNA purification kits are based on affinity spin columns (as single columns or 96-well filtration plates), containing a unique silica-based matrix. The material offers several advantages compared to standard nucleic acid purification columns:
- Low elution volumes (6-8 ul)
- Fast and simple protocols (e.g. PCR clean-up within 2 minutes)
- High yields of extremely pure DNA/RNA
- No wash residue carryover
- No retention volume, therefore no loss of DNA/RNA
Kits are available for the isolation of fragment DNA, plasmid DNA, genomic DNA and RNA from many different sources.

DNA methylation kits
Using the Zymo research Methylation kits, it is possible to perform a bisulfite conversion of the DNA (necessary to identify methylated cytosines) within 3-5 hours, without a prerequisite for purification. The kits are applicable to samples containing as few as 10 cells or 50 pg DNA.
Competent cells
Ready-to-use competent E.coli cells and materials to prepare your own competent cells. Zymo Research provides a simple method for generating Z-competent E.coli for rapid, reliable and highly efficient DNA transformation. Z-competent cells can be transformed in seconds (Mix & Go!) without heat-shocking, lengthy incubations or outgrowth steps.
Antibiotics and chemicals
A range of pre-made high-quality antibiotics and chemicals. Zymo Research ready-to-use ampicillin, chloramphenicol, kanamycin and tetracycline are perfect for use in bacterial selection procedures.
Products for yeast research
BaseClear offers a range of convenient and innovative products for yeast research. We provide a uniquely formulated YPD plus medium that increases the transformation efficiency of most yeast strains by >50%. The frozen EZ Yeast Transformation Kit has been designed to make yeast transformation easier and more efficient as compared to more conventional methods. It can be used with fungal species other than S. cerevisiae including C. albicans, S. pombe, and P. pastoris.
