MICROBIAL IDENTIFICATION SERVICE
Identification of bacteria and fungi can be very time consuming, because of growth time and lab work. BaseClear offers an innovative new service for fast and reliable identification of microorganisms, based on the validated MicroSEQ® system.
The validated system used by BaseClear is a revolutionary system for identification of micro-biological samples (bacteria and fungi), based on PCR and DNA sequencing of the 16S, ITS or D2-LSU regions. This system provides accurate and reproducible results without the need for time-consuming growth. It is suitable for fast screening (1 day for our fast service!) of even the most difficult samples. BaseClear offers a service that is far more accurate and much faster than any other conventional identification method.
Validated accurate system, recommended by Pharmacopoeia
For the data analysis we use databases, including validated DNA sequences for more than 2000 bacterial and over 1000 fungal species. DNA-based microbial identification methods like MicroSEQ® are recommended by the US, European Pharmacopoeia and other regulatory agencies around the world.
In a comparison of bacterial identification methods, the MicroSEQ® system appeared to be the only commercially available system that was found to be 100% accurate with a 100% reproducibility.
Optional identifications:
- 500bp 16S bacterial search: Part of the 16s mRNA gene is used for the identification of bacterial samples. The length of consensus sequence is 400- 500 bp long. The consensus sequence is compared with the entry’s in the validated MicroSEQ® ID 2.2 500BP library
- Full 16S bacterial search: The full 16s mRNA gene is used for the identification of bacterial samples. The length of the consensus sequence is 1400-1500 bp long. The consensus sequence is compared with the entry’s in the validated MicroSEQ® ID 2.0 FULL GENE database library
- D2-LSU fungal search: The D2-LSU region is used for the identification of fungal sample. The length of the consensus sequence is 200-300 bp long. The consensus sequence is compared with the entries in the validated MicroSEQ® ID 2.0 Fungal D2 library
- ITS fungal search: The samples are identified using the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) regions of fungal rRNA genes. The consensus sequence length is about 1400 bp long. For the identification a public database is used instead of the validated MicroSEQ® library
Possibilities:
- Standard or fast service: In our standard services, we deliver the results of the microbial identification analysis within 5 working days. Customers can opt for a fast service with a delivery time of 1 or 2 working days.
- Sequence comparison (BC-160): The consensus sequences and the peak plots of the requested samples will be compared with another and the differences of the sequences between the samples will be marked red. The customer will receive a pdf file with an alignment of the consensus sequences and a pdf file with the peak plot below another.
