Jan Peter manages a team of five technicians, who are responsible for carrying out all DNA purifications and DNA sequencing. Jan Peter takes care of the quality assurance and the delivery of the resulting data at the agreed upon times. He always runs a final check on the sequence data before they are sent off to the customers.

high throughput sequencing service


For routine sequencing analysis of large numbers of samples, BaseClear offers a special high throughput service. Our state-of-the-art robotics guarantee fast and accurate results.

  BaseClear's high throughput sequencing service in short

  • Sequencing will be performed in a fully automated manner.
  • Samples should be submitted in 96- or 384-well plates.
  • Customers can choose to submit raw PCR product or bacteria instead of purified PCR product or plasmid DNA. BaseClear will purify DNA out of these samples at an additional charge.
  • Primers can be chosen from our standard primer list, sent with the order or designed by BaseClear (additional costs).
  • Sequence reactions are loaded onto our sequencers with a maximum run-time corresponding to 500 or 750 nucleotides.
  • Sequencing data are automatically analysed by PHRED, the international standard software for superior base calling and sequence data interpretation. Sequence results are sent directly to the customer without any editing or quality check.
  • Reruns are possible upon request.
  • Cost-effective Quick-shot variant, where the customer premixes (purified) DNA samples and primer. 
  • Delivery time: 3-5 working days.

  • HT short: Single sequencing reaction on DNA samples in a multiwell plate, sequenced with one single primer. Short run with a read length up to 500 bp.
  • HT long: Single sequencing reaction on DNA samples in a multiwell plate, sequenced with one single primer. Long run with a read length up to 750 bp.
  • HT Quick Shot Short: Single sequencing reaction on DNA samples in a multiwell plate, premixed with primer, read length up to 500 bp.
  • HT Quick Shot Long: Single sequencing reaction on DNA samples in a multiwell plate, premixed with primer, read length up to 750 bp.
  • GC-rich run: Additional charge for GC-rich samples. The sequencing reaction will be performed with a special sequencing kit.
  • HT PCR purification: additional option, purification of PCR product in a multiwell plate.
  • HT DNA amplification: Performance of 95 PCR-reactions (with one primer combination) in a 96-well plate on bacterial colonies or plasmid DNA.
  • HT plasmid prep: Additional option, purification of plasmid DNA from 1,5 ml of E.coli culture in a multiwell plate.
  • Sequencing primer design and synthesis:  Additional option, design of a sequencing primer, synthesis of one primer on a 40 nM scale.
