Over the last three decades we have built considerable experience and expertise in microbial genomics. BaseClear offers a complete range of microbial genomics services including: metagenomics, microbiome analysis and microbial strain characterisation for regulatory approval. We are the preferred partner for many leading brands in various industries such as food, food ingredients, pharma, cosmetics, and animal health in in Europe and beyond. We currently have approximately 65 employees and are proudly located in the heart of the Leiden Bio Science Park, the leading biomedical hotspot in Europe.

For our product development department we are looking a:

Regulatory affairs specialist (in food/feed)

(32 – 40 hours per week)

 

What will you be doing?

The regulatory affairs specialist will be responsible for managing and improving our regulatory portfolio which focuses on strain approval in the food / feed chain. Through in-depth knowledge and expertise in EU and non-EU regulations you will ensure that BaseClear’s clients can rely on solid dossiers for submission to regulatory bodies. You work closely together with our product managers and the other colleagues of the operational and commercial teams.

Your main responsibilities:

  • You are responsible for the quality and improvement of our regulatory affairs service portfolio.
  • You are responsible for the development of new products and (consultancy) services.
  • You follow and keep informed of developments in regulatory legislations and actively respond and contribute to these.
  • You communicate with external and internal customers before, during and after projects.
  • You present about our products and services at conferences and expert meetings, publications, etc. to ensure that BaseClear is recognized as the expert in regulatory affairs.
  • You keep product documentation of our regulatory affairs products up to date and proactively disseminate knowledge within the organization.
  • You provide support with budgeting and actively contribute to cost control.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a result-oriented, enthusiastic and ambitious candidate with an international reputation in regulatory affairs for the food / feed. You carry a Master or PhD in biology, food science, veterinary, or related subjects. You have experience or affinity with microbiology and/or genomics. In addition, you are a strong communicator with a commercial mindset and think in solutions rather than questions. As a person, you are enthusiastic, flexible and driven candidate with a “can-do” mentality who has the ability to work accurately and is result-oriented under pressure of deadlines.
