Over the last 25 years we have built up considerable experience and expertise in microbial genomics and and currently offer a comprehensive package of services to customers in this field. The commercial team focuses on customers working on microbial genomics applications in the Food and Pharma markets. It offers customers a unique combination of innovative genomics technologies, bioinformatics and microbial genomics knowledge coupled with high levels of service and communication.

We are currently looking for candidates for the position of:

Account Manager



The successful candidate will join the commercial team which is focused on the food and pharma markets. The successful candidate will be responsible for growing sales revenue from current customers and also building strong and sustainable relationships with key accounts. The account manager will be responsible for the identification of new developments and trends in the market and identifying potential new products. Additionally the successful cross-selling of other BaseClear products and services.

You will work as part of a highly motivated team of account managers, business developers and scientists and be in constant contact with customers and external partners. You are responsible for the (Key) account management.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Account management, maintaining and building strong commercial relationships with all (current) accounts.
  • Growing sales revenue from current customers and achieving yearly sales revenue targets.
  • Forecasting and make annual budgeting/financial planning
  • Upselling and cross-selling
  • Make and follow detailed account planning, i.e., Managing the sales process for these customers, including defining customer’s service requirements and translating those into commercial quotations based on BaseClear’s current product portfolio.
  • Making commercial quotations for current accounts and ensuring that the sales process is successful.
  • Answering all customer requests for product and service information.
  • Keeping the CRM system up to date for your customers.
  • Collecting market information and helping translate this into market trends and potential new product proposals.
  • Regular customers visits  and conference attendance as required.

We are looking for:

A result-oriented, proactive, enthusiastic and flexible candidate with at least 3 year’s experience (must have) as an account manager preferably in the bioscience or biotechnology industry. Additionally we are looking for a candidate who has a commercial attitude with excellent communication and presentation skills, a  strong network in the  food ingredients, pharma and biotech market and a high level of energy and ambition.

Specifically we are searching for a candidate with the following experience and characteristics:

  • A minimum of 3 years account management experience.
  • Educated to master’s degree level or higher, preferably in a bioscience, biotechnology or medical discipline.
  • ·Experience in the bioscience or biotechnology market, and ideally with Microbiology and Next-Generation sequencing.
  • A desire to progress and grow into a senior (Key) account management role.
  • The ability to work well both independently and within a team and be able to meet strict deadlines.
  • Education: Academic (Master or PhD) level
