BaseClear was founded in 1993, and ever since has been a pioneer in genomic analysis. We have been on the forefront of microbial genomics innovations and industrial applications. BaseClear offers a complete range of microbial genomics services for many applications including clinical trials wherein microbiome readouts are also part of results: metagenomics, metatranscriptomics, microbiome analysis and microbial strain characterization for regulatory approval.

We are the partner of choice for many leading brands in various biotechnology industries such as pharma, personal care and hygiene, consumer health, food industry and human and animal health in the Netherlands, Europe and beyond. We are also proud to be located in the heart of the Leiden Bio Science Park in Leiden, one of the leading bioscience hubs in Europe.

For our commercial department, we are looking for candidates for the position of:

Account Manager
(32 – 40 hours per week)

Job:

You will be responsible for the growth of a number of BaseClear’s key accounts by building strong customer relationships and cross selling of services. You are proactive and receptive to the needs & services required by the clients. Consultative sales & account management is the core of this function. The role can require both national and international travel, so travelling flexibility is ideal. In this role, you will be part of an ambitious team of account managers, business developers, marketeers and product developers with ample opportunities to grow & lead.

Profile:

You are solution-driven and a ‘go-getter’, with a proactive commercial mindset, experienced in working with scientists and researchers as clients. You should be able to navigate priorities in an opportunities rich environment. You are an excellence communicator with strong negotiation skills. You are comfortable when presenting and networking. Our team and clients will benefit from a candidate with the following experience:

  • Strong academic background (preferably Masters degree) in bioscience, (industrial or food) biotechnology, nutrition sciences, bioinformatics, microbiology or related discipline with affinity to genomics market & next generation sequencing.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in account management or a similar commercial role.
  • Preferably a network in the pharma, food ingredients and biotech market.
