BaseClear was founded in 1993, and ever since has been a pioneer in genomic analysis. We have been on the forefront of microbial genomics innovations and industrial applications. BaseClear offers a complete range of microbial genomics services for many applications including clinical trials wherein microbiome readouts are also part of results: metagenomics, transcriptomics, microbiome analysis and microbial strain characterization for regulatory approval.

We are the partner of choice for many leading brands in various biotechnology industries such as pharma, personal care and hygiene, consumer health, food industry and human and animal health in the Netherlands, Europe and beyond. For our commercial department, we are looking for candidates for the position of:

Account Manager
(40 hours per week)

What will you be doing?

As an Account Manager, you’ll take full ownership of client relationships within your assigned territory. You’ll be responsible for managing ongoing projects, ensuring client satisfaction, and identifying opportunities to expand accounts through upselling and cross-selling. You’ll work closely with our business development, scientific, and operations teams to deliver a seamless client experience, from quote preparation to project delivery. In addition to managing existing accounts, you’ll actively prospect within your territory to identify new clients and build long-term partnerships that support our scientific service growth. You will have substantial support and coaching from management, cross-functional teams and internal tools.

Who are you?

You are a relationship-driven, ambitious person with a commercial mindset and strong understanding of life sciences.   You have experience in working with scientists and researchers as clients across Industry, Pharma and Academia; whether you come from a commercial or scientific background, you’re comfortable navigating technical conversations and translating client needs into actionable solutions. You are proactive and consultative and someone who thrives in a dynamic environment. You are an excellent communicator and relationship builder.

Our team and clients will benefit from a candidate with the following experience:

  • You have completed BSc or MSc degree, preferably in a bioscience, biotechnology, biology or medical disciplines
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in external account management or a similar client facing commercial role
  • Familiar with organizations in the pharma, food ingredients and biotech market
  • An entrepreneurial mindset is highly preferred; own and grow the client relationships within an assigned territory by managing active accounts, identifying new opportunities and ensuring alignment with internal teams.
  • Highly preferred to be located in The Netherlands; open to remote work in Belgium, UK, or France.
