With a background in biology and extensive experience in compliance and regulatory affairs, Dennis Kap has the tools to understand customer needs and respond authoritatively in his role as Product Manager Regulatory Affairs. “I’m excited about BaseClear’s diverse projects, in which I can combine my biological roots with a thorough understanding of the legislative climate in which we operate,” he says.
Dennis’s key role is to provide regulatory services to ensure that customers meet regulatory requirements. He translates results from safety and toxigenicity studies to extensive reports that customers can use for regulatory submissions. Dennis explains: “In my position at BaseClear, I provide the excellent regulatory support BaseClear’s customers expect. By keeping up-to-date with the current legislation, I quickly identify regulatory needs and speed up the process for customers.” Dennis works as part of a team; he focuses on regulatory affairs and draws on the technical experience of other colleagues to interpret the results.
Dennis studied biology at Leiden University, where he obtained a BSc and MSc in evolution, biodiversity and conservation. He worked for several years in account management, gaining a broad understanding of how to meet customer needs. After moving to Compliance and Regulatory Affairs in the chemical sector in 2015, Dennis took on a wide range of tasks related to chemical legislation. He is looking forward to contributing to BaseClear’s mission to provide the best solutions in the genomics services market.
