BaseClear celebrates 25th anniversary and opens new building

BaseClear, one of the pioneers at the Leiden Bio Science Park, celebrated its 25th anniversary on Thursday 11 October. At this celebration, the new, high-tech and sustainable laboratory on the Sylviusweg was officially opened by the mayor of Leiden.

With a push on the button, CEO Bas Reichert and COO Erna Barèl, together with mayor Henri Lenferink, activated the confetti cannons. With this the new Nucleus Building was officially opened. It is the first building in the Leiden Bio Science Park with a ‘BREEAM Excellent sustainability label’.

In his speech, mayor Lenferink emphasized the importance of BaseClear in the success of the Leiden Bio Science Park. Prof. dr. Geert de Snoo, dean of Leiden University, further explained BaseClear’s collaboration with the surrounding companies and research institutions. And how these collaborations contribute to the development of new innovative applications of DNA research. Bas Reichert closed the official ceremony by expression his thanks to all customers, partners and employees who have helped building BaseClear.
