BaseClear receives BREEAM excellent sustainability label

On Tuesday April 23, 2019, BaseClear received the BREEAM excellent certificate for the Nucleus building. BREEAM is a code for a sustainable built environment. With four out of five stars, the BREEAM Excellent is the second highest level of the BREEAM system.

BaseClear, one of the pioneers of the Leiden Bio Science Park, moved to the newly built Nucleus laboratory in May 2018. The new building, designed by Popma & ter Steege, is now the first building on the Leiden Bio Science Park with the BREEAM-excellent level of the sustainability label. The Nucleus building has achieved the Excellent level by, among others, the compact building volume, the connection to heat-cold storage, the energy-efficient installation system, LED lighting and 200-pv panels for generating energy.
