Matthijs has a passion for microbes, combined with a natural drive to solve issues and help people. He aims to enable his clients to fulfill their visions and ambitions, crafting the perfect solution for any challenge that might arise.
To achieve this, Matthijs relies on both his education as a scientist and his professional experience as a consultant. With a BSc from Hanze University of Applied Sciences and an MSc in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, he has gained a wide range of knowledge with an in-depth focus on micro- and molecular biology. After obtaining these degrees, he pursued a career in biotechnology by joining a consultancy firm. By managing their in-house laboratories and acting as a consultant for his clients, Matthijs gained a deep understanding of their total workflow, from study design to data analysis. This experience granted him the skills to assist his clients in identifying challenges in their projects and designing tailor-made solutions. Adding value through these skills is Matthijs’ main drive in every project he is involved in.
In his personal life, this can-do attitude is something he lives by, whether it’s a culinary challenge in the kitchen, pursuing a better score on the golf course, or pushing his limits in the gym. “Challenges are meant to be faced because nothing good in life comes easy; otherwise, everybody would have it.”
