On Friday, October 13th, BaseClear received the BREEAM excellent sustainability label for the design of its new building ‘De Novo’. The new building, designed by Popma & ter Steege, will become the first building on the Leiden BioScience Park with this level of the sustainability label.
The new building has achieved the Excellent level by, among others, the compact building volume, the connection to heat-cold storage, the energy-efficient installation system, LED lighting and 200-pv panels for generating energy. For the heat-cold storage a collaboration is entered into with the Stichting Biopartner, which has an overcapacity for this. The signatures for this contract were also placed on this day. Construction is progressing according to plan, BaseClear expects to move to the new building mid-2018.
